The femoral mechanical axis is represented by the line passing through the centre of the femoral head and the middle of the tibial spines. The angle described in our study represents the angle between this axis and the tangent line of the femoral condyles. The tibial mechanical axis is represented by the line passing by the middle of the tibial spines and the middle of the tibial plafond. The angle described in our study represents the angle between this axis and the tangent line of the healthy tibial plateau. This method allows evaluation of the extra-articular part of the deformity. We can also use the Dejour and Levigne method to measure the tibial epiphyseal angle [2]. The mechanical femorotibial axis is the angle between the two aforementioned axes.
